Reward offered for information about wanted fugitive from Atlanta

ATLANTA - The Fulton County Sheriff's Office is offering a reward for information concerning the whereabouts of a wanted fugitive.

Charles Barry Pinckney is a former DeKalb County detention officer who is considered armed and dangerous. 

According to a release, deputies with the Fulton County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Unit and the United States Marshal's Service Southeast Regional Task Force says Pinckney has ties to Atlanta, Brunswick and Miami.

Pinckney left in late October days before his conviction by a Fulton County jury for statutory rape, child molestation and sexual battery. The victim was a 15-year-old at the time of the incident. The trial continues in the defendant's absence. The judge issued failure to appear bench warrants for his re-arrest. Pinckney was sentenced to serve up to 45 years consecutively in prison for those three counts.
