Auburn Police make an arrest involving a fire arm robbery

AUBURN, Ala (WRBL) -- Auburn Police arrested Reginald L. Hooks Jr., on a felony warrant charging him with robbery first degree.

Police say the arrest stems from an investigation of a delayed robbery that happened on January 24th. Officials say the robbery wasn't reported until days later. The 19-year-old victim says he made arrangements to purchase a firearm from a known acquaintance from the parking lot of a business in the 1700 block of South College Street.

He later identified this person as Hooks Jr.

The victim says when Hooks arrived him and two unknown individuals robbed the victim at gunpoint for an undisclosed amount of cash. At that point, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle and no injuries were reported.

The victim was able to identify Hooks Jr. as one of the people that robbed him. Auburn Police attained a warrant for Hooks' arrest and found him. Police say this investigation is still ongoing.

Hooks is currently in the Lee County Jail where he remains on a 100,000 bond.
