Columbus Police confirm shooting on Farr Road; man claims to have seen incident unfold

COLUMBUS, Ga - Columbus Police say a man is recovering following a shooting on Farr Road.

According to Columbus Police, the man is now in stable condition at Midtown Medical Center.

Another man, who claims to be an eye witness of the scene, says first responders came to the Chevron on the corner of Farr Road and Cusseta to pick the victim up. The witness also says the Chevron is not where the shooting occurred. 

Columbus Police confirm the victim was shot in the thigh.

The witness, who did not want to reveal his name, says after the victim was shot, he got in his car and drove to the gas station. The witness even pointed to a parked vehicle near the front of the gas station, saying the victim left his car behind.

Columbus Police say they cannot confirm the witness' account.
