DRUG BUST: $100,000 worth of drugs confiscated during a routine traffic stop on 431

RUSSELL COUNTY, Ala (WRBL) - The latest on the Russel County Drug Bust Conference.

Sheriff Heath Taylor says $100,000 worth of drugs were confiscated Wednesday during a routine traffic stop on 431.

Russell County Sheriff's Deputies stopped 23-year-old Nathan Adams and an RCSD K-9 hit on the vehicle. Investigators say Adams was carrying 3 pounds of marijuana, a kilo of "ice" (a form of meth), and 494 oxycodone pills.

Investigators say the bust is the result of proactive policing, and plan to continue proactive efforts to help fight the opioid crisis in the country.
