Kay Ivey kicks off campaign for Governor

ALABAMA - Ten months after suddenly being catapulted to governor's office, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey is launching her campaign to win the office in her own right.

Tuesday at her campaign kickoff Ivey said she has done her best to steady the scandal-rocked state.

Ivey took office after disgraced Governor Robert Bentley resigned amid a sex scandal.

Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle, State Senator Bill Hightower, and others are also seeking the Republican bid.

While Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox and Former Chief Justice Sue Bell Cobb are looking for a place on the democratic ticket.
