Man, woman arrested after police chase ends in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Columbus police have a man and woman in custody after a high speed chase from Phenix City that ended in Columbus just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The chase ended near 9th Street and 1st Avenue.

Columbus police say the pair was traveling in a Nissan Altima that was reported stolen to the Opelika Police Department earlier in the day.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital for injuries sustained when she jumped out of the car during the pursuit. She also has an outstanding warrant for her arrest from the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office.

Police are not releasing the identities of the suspects at this time.
