Phenix City responds to new water concerns

UPDATE: PHENIX CITY, Al.- Representatives with the city say an old pipe is the cause of the water main break.

 According to Stephen Smith, the Utilities Director and Assistant City Manager, Saturday morning a piece had fallen off of a pipe that's about 70 years old.

The pipe is located near Idle Hour Park, and residents on the North side of town have not had working water for hours.

Crews are working to replace the broken piece on the old pipe and are also working to control the water pressure.

We're told the water should be back to working properly at some point Saturday evening.

PHENIX CITY, Al.- Water authority representatives tell News Three they're working a water main break. 

They say, they're not able to tell us when the water will be back to working properly at this time.

Viewers have called saying the Idle Hour Park area is affected.
