UPDATE: Authorities believe escaped Georgia prisoner is no longer in Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Ga. (WRBL) - The Harris County Sheriff's Office says 29-year-old Stephan Delaney escaped while on work duty at Hamilton Cemetery. They say video footage from the Harris County Health Department shows him getting into a vehicle around 8:30 Wednesday morning.

Harris County Sheriff Mike Jolley says he believes Delaney is no longer in Harris County.

Delaney was being held at Harris County CI, a state prison, for burglary charges. Sheriff Jolley says Delaney would've had the opportunity to get out of prison in October.

"So, you know people are in jail for certain reasons, and this guy was due to get out, from what I understand in October. Now, he is facing another five year stretch for escape, so apparently him wanting to go off for spring break is not going to be real smart."

The Georgia Department of Corrections has released a "BOLO" or "Be on the look out" for Delaney.
