Driver facing federal charges in NFL player's death

INDIANAPOLIS - Georgia born NFL player Edwin Jackson was killed in a car crash this Sunday.

Jackson was riding in an Uber with driver Jeff Monroe when Manuel Orrego-Savala's truck collided with their vehicle. Police say Orrego-Savala's Blood Alcohol Level was three times the legal limit.

This incident adds to the immigration debate as Orrego-Savala had entered the country illegally, and according to investigators had been using the alias, Alex Cabrera Gonsales.

On Tuesday, President Trump tweeted that this fatality was a "prime example of why the country needs tougher immigration laws." The president called the incident "disgraceful" and added, "this is just one of many such preventable tragedies."

Orrego-Savala, originally from Guatemala has a history of arrests including drunk driving charges in California in 2005. He had previously been deported in 2007 and again in 2009.

Jackson's funeral services will be held in Atlanta on Friday.
