ATLANTA (AP) - Thieves stole a car -- along with expensive equipment inside -- from a car parked outside the Georgia Capitol that belongs to the clerk of the Georgia House of Representatives. Bill Reilly discovered broken glass and his 1993 Chevy Suburban missing from its spot at the curb of the Capitol on Monday. Authorities believe someone smashed the window, hot-wired the car and vanished sometime between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

VALDOSTA, Ga. (AP) - Heavy rains have led to continuing sewage problems in the south Georgia city of Valdosta. Eleven manholes throughout the city had spilled an estimated 286,500 gallons of wastewater into local waterways as of yesterday afternoon.

ATLANTA (AP) - Federal labor officials say they're launching a partnership with several Georgia organizations to try preventing construction workers from being exposed to a potentially harmful material.

The officials have agreed to provide construction industry employers with information and training to reduce workers' exposure to crystalline silica dust.

ATLANTA (AP) - A public memorial service is planned to celebrate the life of longtime WSB Radio and WSB-TV traffic reporter "Captain" Herb Emory. The public memorial is planned for 10 o'clock Saturday morning at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in east Cobb County.
