AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Shon Coleman says he always believed that one day he would start for Auburn, even when he went from five-star recruit to cancer patient as a high school senior. Coleman's time has finally come. He'll be the Tigers' starting left tackle Saturday against Arkansas.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama linebacker Trey DePriest is suspended for the season opener against West Virginia. Coach Nick Saban said Wednesday night that DePriest will serve a one-game suspension for a "minor NCAA infraction." He'll return for the second-ranked Crimson Tide against Florida Atlantic.

(AP) - Nick Saban grew up watching West Virginia football and basketball games. Now, he's got to face his boyhood team. Saban and No. 2 Alabama play the Mountaineers Saturday in Atlanta. The West Virginia native says going to Mountaineer football games as a boy was the highlight of his year.

NEW YORK (AP) - Mike Minor took a two-hit shutout into the eighth inning after hitting a double and single himself, leading the Atlanta Braves over the New York Mets 6-1 Thursday night. Minor had an RBI single in the second for the game's first run, then doubled and scored in the eighth.
