Storm Team 11 Weather: Showers and Storms possible tonight

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) - The Storm Team 11 Forecast:

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 11 PM EDT for the following counties of eastern Kentucky:  Bell, Harlan and Leslie.  Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible in the watch area with the potential for damaging winds, in excess of 60 mph, and or 1 inch diameter hail or larger. 

Variable cloudy skies are in the forecast for tonight with a 40% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms through midnight.  The low temperature will be close to 66 degrees.


Look for a mix of sun and clouds on Thursday with a 50% chance of scattered showers and possible thunderstorms.  The high will be near 88 degrees.

Variable cloudy skies are forecast for Thursday night along with a 30% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms early.  The low will be near 68.

Partly cloudy skies are forecast for Friday with a 40% chance of scattered showers and possible thunderstorms.  The high will be 90.

Temperatures will continue to warm with highs near 90 Saturday and Sunday.  We keep the chance of afternoon and early evening thunderstorms through early next week.
