8 Grangers sign up to play college sports

LaGRANGE, Ga. -

Eight Lagrange High School athletes signed their letters of intent to play college sports next year.

The Grangers football team has six players moving on to the next level.

Defensive end Joe Sanders and wide reciever Dee Smith are on their way to Iowa Western, one of the best junior colleges in the country.

D.J. Hudson, a defensive tackle, will play for the defending Division II champions at Valdosta State.

The other three football prospects are all going to West Georgia Tech. Demonton Boy, a running back and defensive back, Qua Baldwin, a defensive back, and Chris Manning, a linebacker hybrid will all play for West Georgia Tech.

The Grangers baseball team also had a prospect moving to the next level. Catcher Price Peters will play baseball at Southern Union State Community College.

And Cassidy Kemp, a forward for the Lagrange girls soccer team, will play at Kennesaw State.
