SEALE, Ala. -

Our search this week for an MEA Golden Apple Award winner took us down to Seale, Ala.

News 3's Carlos Williams bestowed the honor on Oliver Elementary sixth grade teacher Karen Hensen.

Ms. Hensen, a language arts teacher, has been at the Russell County school for over ten years.

She was nominated by Faye and Carolyn Kirkland who both complimented the Columbus State University grad on her patience and ability to keep her students focused.

Hensen says she likes the challenge of teaching the young students.

Congratulations again to teacher Karen Hensen, this week's MEA Federal Credit Union Golden Apple Award winner.

Anyone can nominate their teacher for a Golden Apple by filling out a nominating form on our website.
