High clouds hang around through Wednesday

Posted: Updated:

High clouds will rule the day Wednesday.

These won't produce any rain, but will filter the sunshine reaching the ground.

Highs this afternoon manage the low 60s, and a dry cold front will sweep across the area tonight. Cooler air will seep southward behind the front, but the colder air won't make it down here until Friday afternoon.

We'll introduce a very slight chance of rain Saturday as an upper level low spins up over Tennessee. North Alabama and Tennessee will see a bit a flurries, but we'll only see a few areas of drizzle, if that.

Highs Saturday and Sunday will only climb into the mid- to upper-40s under a partly to mostly cloudy sky. Warmer, more average temperatures should return next week.
