Dry, Sunny Stretch Ahead - WRBL

Dry, Sunny Stretch Ahead

Posted: Updated:

After a good rain on Monday, we're in for a nice stretch of early spring weather that will last into the weekend.

Monday gave Columbus an inch of rain, our first substantial rain in what is normally our rainiest month of the year.  A cold front was able to clear us out, ushering in a cool, dry air mass on brisk northerly winds.  Those winds will pick up from the northwest again today before dying down to near calm tonight.

Thursday morning will find some areas with freezing temperatures as our low will drop to near 32º, with light frost also possible.  A Freeze Warning is in effect tonight for most of our Georgia counties.  By Friday, a significant warming trend will get going as we get a mild west wind on the backside of the high pressure ridge, helping our highs reach the 70s over next weekend.
