Warmer Days Ahead - WRBL

Warmer Days Ahead

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS, Ga. -

March is known for big swings in temperature as we make the transition from winter to spring.  Our trend is definitely upward as we look ahead to the weekend.

The Southeast remains under the dominance of high pressure; for now we're on the colder side of that air mass but as it slides south, a milder westerly flow around the surface high will bring in milder air.  We'll see the highs jump at least 10 degrees on Friday, and it will continue to warm through the weekend.  Lows will be milder as well as we go from below normal to warmer than average.

Rain is unlikely until early next week as a weak system moves in, likely zeroing in on late Monday and early Tuesday for our next rain chance.  Though March is our peak for tornado season, this system won't have enough strength to produce any severe weather.
