Opelika continues to lure new industry.
Its Northeast Opelika Industrial park has been recognized as one of the south's best automotive assembly plant sites.
Lori Huguley, the director of the city's Economic Development office says there is an effort to diversify when it comes to the industrial park. Vitamin-maker Pharmavite is the newest business to stake a claim.
"We don't want to be too heavily located in one sector or another so to be able to bring that vitamin manufacturer in was a nice difference from our heavy in automotive and logistics and distribution," says Huguley.
There are about 1,000 acres available in the industrial park for development.
