Talladega County officials have confirmed the body of a man found lying on a road in Sycamore is a 19-year-old who was reported missing from Shelby County.

County Coroner Shaddix Murphy says Cameron McGlothan was found lying on a road March 12 and authorities used dental records to identify the teen.

Authorities have not disclosed details on how McGlothan died, but have ruled the teen's death a homicide.

McGlothan was reported missing March 7 and relatives have said they last saw him March 5.

The Talladega County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation with assistance from the District Attorney's office and Shelby County authorities. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the sheriff's investigation division at (256) 761-2141.
