Stormy Start to the Week - WRBL

Stormy Start to the Week

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS, Ga. -

A storm system will affect us Monday and Monday night, bringing rain and maybe some strong thunderstorms to much of the area.  Low pressure located to our north in the Ohio River valley will send a trailing cold front in and through the area, triggering the activity.

Our best chance for rain will come in the afternoon and nighttime hours, though showers could arrive sooner.  The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of the area in a slight risk for severe storms with the main threat large  hail and damaging winds.

The front will move through early Tuesday, ending the rain and clearing out the clouds for much of the day.  Drier and slightly cooler air will follow, accompanied by brisk northerly winds.
