COLUMBUS, Ga. -

During Columbus State's softball double header Sunday, former coach Larry Kees was honored.

He threw out the first pitch.

Kees coached the softball team at CSU for 11 years starting in 1981.

He says he loved the girls on his teams.

"I guess even though I enjoyed the wins and the conference championships and all that," Kees said. "The thing that I most enjoyed, I did a little research after I moved on to other things, every girl that played for me for those eleven years graduated."

The Lady Cougars honored Kees with their play on the field as well. A Morgan Knight Home Run helped CSU  win game one against Flagler 3-0.

The Lady Cougars won game two by a score of 2-1.
