Georgia kicks-off sex trafficking campaign

Posted: Updated:

Georgia lawmakers and law enforcement kicked-off a campaign targeting sex trafficking.

State Attorney General Sam Olens, along with state and federal prosecutors announced the public awareness campaign Monday.

The slogan is "Georgia's not buying it" and specifically targets those who pay for sex. Olens said it is necessary to go after the demand.

The campaign includes a public service announcement featuring professional athletes from Atlanta teams speaking out against sex trafficking.

The effort is a public-private partnership of the attorney general's office, law enforcement, nonprofit advocates and the Governor's Office of Children and Families. As part of the campaign, the attorney general's office is also working with partners to do trainings and increase awareness
