First soda -- now New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is targeting tobacco. He wants to require stores to keep tobacco products out of sight unless an adult is making a purchase or employees are restocking.
The goal is to crackdown on young people smoking. Part of the legislation would also ban the sell of discounted tobacco product and strengthen penalties for selling tobacco illegally.
Bloomberg's latest health initiative comes a week after a judge invalidated the city's ban on sugary drinks in containers larger than 16 ounces.
