CHATSWORTH, Ga. -

Authorities told the Associated Press that a man fell five feet into a toilet pit at a park in northwest Georgia, and was trapped for more than an hour.

The Dalton Daily Citizen reported that the unidentified man was standing atop a toilet on the south side of Carters Lake Saturday and fell through an opening into a pit where human waste is left to decompose.

Lisa Parker, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, told the newspaper that the man was trapped for about 70 minutes. Parker added that the man was taken to the Murray Medical Center and information on his condition was not available.
