Swimsuit/towel drive to help Alabama foster children

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS, Ga. -

An East Alabama based organization is working to help foster children statewide. BigHouse Foundation is holding its annual swimsuit and towel drive. The swimsuits and towels that are collected will be personalized with embroidery and given to foster children. This will be the fifth year for the drive and in that time, thousands of foster children have received a personalized set to help them feel special this summer. BigHouse is a nonprofit, Christian organization that holds several events and programs for foster children throughout the year. Those programs include the Clothes Closet, which provides clothing for foster families, and Kid's Night Out, which gives foster parents a break once a month.

In addition to new swimsuits and towels, BigHouse relies on community members to help with the large amount of embroidery to put each child's name on their towel. If you'd like to donate a swimsuit or towel, there are several drop off locations. See below for those. To donate your time and talent in embroidery, email them at  bighouse@ourbighouse.org.
