A cold start to the day will lead to a rather cool afternoon. Forecast highs in the mid to upper 50s are a good 10-15 degrees below average on this first full day of spring. A few clouds skirt across the sky this afternoon.
Clouds will thicken up tonight as another disturbance rides through the region. A few light showers are possible early tomorrow morning. A few more are possible throughout the afternoon, as we'll stay mostly cloudy with highs in the mid to upper 50s, may be a bit too high… We'll see.
Saturday afternoon and early Sunday morning are looking rather wet as an area of low pressure marches across Alabama and Georgia. We're looking at the possibility of a few locations seeing up to an inch of rain. An isolated thunderstorm cannot be ruled out if temperatures climb above 70, which is possible. Speaking of temperatures, they'll be quite the challenge to forecast this weekend. A difference of 50 miles could separate upper 50s and low 70s.
The last week of March will be on the cooler side with temperatures in the low to mid 60s, a good 10° below average. This March could be one of the coolest we've seen in quite some time, a far cry from the super warm March of 2012.
