Department of Veteran Affairs benefits backlog

U.S. -

A recent report from the Department of Veteran Affairs revealed shocking news.  There's a major backlog of unprocessed requests for benefits and pensions for veterans.

The VA has hundreds of thousands of benefits claims, classified as pending.  The secretary for the agency says the VA's outdated system, that's still reliant on paper forms, is partially to blame.  He says the VA does have a plan in place to end the backlog in 2015.
