UPDATE: The naked man who died after being tasered in Lee County has been identified as 25-year-old Khari Neville Illidge. The Lee County Coroner says he listed his home address in Columbus.

ORIGINAL: Lee County authorities say an unidentified man has died following a struggle Sunday night. The man was tasered twice.

Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones says they received a 911 call about a man barging into a home in north Phenix City.

"A male subject, completely nude, had entered there home and acted in a threatening manner," Jones said.

Jones says the man ran from police when they arrived on the scene and then began to fight with officers.

The man passed out after continuing to struggle with officers for more than 10 minutes.   He says CPR was administered but the man was dead on arrival at a local hospital.

"They were attempting to restrain his feet," said Jones. "He was still combative. The individual passed out. Deputies and police began CPR procedure on the individual. Medical crews were summons."

Jones says officers were responding to a 911 call in the Pierce Road area.  Residents there said a nude man described as "incoherent" and "irrational" had entered their home.

Responding officers located the man near the home.  Jones says a struggle ensued and even though tasered the man continued to fight with officers.  Jones says the officers followed proper protocol.

"He continued to be combative after the taser was deployed," Jones said. "The taser was deployed and it was several minutes later before the individual passed out."

The Alabama Bureau of Investigation has taken over the case as is standard procedure.  Jones says because the man was nude they've not been able to identify him.  The body has been taken to Montgomery for Autopsy.
