AUBURN, Ala. -

The Auburn Tiger women's basketball team advanced to the Elite Eight of the Women's National Invitational Tournament with a 72-52 rout of Tulane on Wednesday.

Auburn led by just five at 30-25 after the first half, and just 48-44 with 7:12 left in the game. But a Najat Ouardad three-pointer sparked a 21-4 run to end the game for the Tigers.

Tra'Cee Tanner continued the theme of big nights from Auburn players. She led all scorers with 25 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Tyrese Tanner added 12 points, and senior Blanche Alverson had 10.

With the win, Auburn advances to the quarterfinals of the WNIT, where they will face either Drexel or Bowling Green. Auburn will find out its opponent and the location of the next game on Thursday.
