HAMILTON, Ga. -

A food processing and distribution company is planning to expand a plant in western Georgia and looks to create 750 new jobs.

Gov. Nathan Deal Thursday announced Koch Foods is planning to expand its plant in Hamilton about 25 miles northeast of Columbus.

The creation of 750 new jobs is expected to raise the plant's workforce to a total of about 1,400.

Officials say the Illinois-based company is expected to spend about $49 million to expand its Harris County plant. It is unclear when the company plans to expand the facility.
