Easter Sunday Weather - WRBL

Easter Sunday Weather

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS, Ga. -

We're likely to see some rain on Easter Sunday, but it won't be the all-day variety.

One upper level disturbance is going to come through the area Saturday night, bringing scattered showers, before moving out early on Easter morning.  It's possible we could see some sun break through the low cloud cover during the day, then by Sunday night a weak cold front will sweep in from the north to trigger more showers and storms.  Those could last into Monday before the front clears the area.

Cooler weather will take over starting Wednesday, with another rain system likely to bring back the rain in the Wednesday through Friday time frame.  Precise timing is uncertain at this point.

No severe weather is currently expected from any of these systems, though thunderstorms and small hail are possible.

Sunrise in Columbus on Easter Sunday is at 7:29 AM Eastern Daylight Time.
