Columbus cruises past Sandy Creek in region matchup

The Columbus Blue Devils made quick work of Sandy Creek on Friday, winning 12-2.

The game was played at Randy Jordan Field. After Thursday's rain, Sandy Creek's field was unplayable, so the game was moved to Columbus.

Hunter Swilling started for Columbus, going two innings and striking out four. Columbus got him run support early, plating five in the first inning and four more in the second.

Tony Dalponte added a home run to dead center in the third.

The Blue Devils stay at home on Saturday, when they host Alexander in another region game moved to Randy Jordan Field because of rainfall.
