Here come the 80s

Posted: Updated:

The 80s will begin springing up the next couple of days, our first string of 80 degree days in 2013. The ridge responsible for the warm temperatures will increase our humidity come Tuesday and Wednesday and create partly to mostly cloudy skies. It will also slow the advance of our next frontal system.

Speaking of our next frontal system, it looks to arrive during the day Thursday. The main concern at this time is the squall line forecast to move through sometime Thursday afternoon. It will be arriving in a weakened state, but damaging winds and hail are still a concern for us as the line passes. An isolated tornado may be possible, but not all that likely.

Cooler air moves in after the front as temperatures tumble back into the low to mid 70s Friday and Saturday.

MONDAY: Partly cloudy. High: 80

Monday night: Few clouds, but humidity is on the climb. Low: 59

TUESDAY:  Partly cloudy. High: 82

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear. Lows near 61.

WEDNESDAY: Partly to mostly cloudy. Highs near 83.

Wednesday Night: Becoming mostly cloudy. Lows near 64.

THURSDAY:  Showers & thunderstorms in the afternoon. High: 75

Thursday Night: Few showers linger in to the evening hours. Lows near 54.

    Special Report: Selling seized guns

Instead of destroying them, The Columbus Police Department is selling hundreds of seized guns. Some of the guns were used in crimes, others were found on the road- all of them now headed back to the streets.“The policeman in me says I’d rather not see that gun back on the street, we’ve already gotten a hold of it once, but you’ve got 550 guns- will every one of them be used in a crime? No. Some of them will be sold to someone that will enjoy the use of that gun for the rest of their life and ...
