Tracking the threat of strong storms - WRBL

Tracking the threat of strong storms

Posted: Updated:

Our squall line is going to take it's time to approach us. Our best time frame for its arrival is between 8P-2A, first for those in our Alabama Counties then our Georgia viewers. Damaging winds and hail will be the primary threats as the line pushes through.

It should be noted that strong, individual storms could still pop up this afternoon ahead of the squall line. If these do indeed bubble up, then they could produce damaging winds, hail, and an isolated tornado. In fact, these individual storms are more likely to produce the tornadoes than the squall line. This is just something to keep in mind this afternoon.

The cold front is forecast to sweep through the area early tomorrow morning and send temperatures closer to average, mid to upper 70s, for the short-term.

A disturbance in the Gulf will up our rain chances for the first part of next week.
