Scientists make a painful discovery in brain scans

For the first time, scientists have been able to objectively measure a person's pain. researchers from the University of Colorado boulder exposed test subjects to different levels of heat. Then they analyzed brain scan patterns, and were able to accurately predict the person's pain level with 90 to 100 percent accuracy. Currently, doctors ask patients to measure their own pain - usually using a scale of one to ten. the findings could lead to more reliable ways to detect pain.
