Dozens of Army Rangers get ready to prove they're the best of the best

COLUMBUS, Ga. -

The best of the best will be honored this weekend in the David E. Grange, Jr. Best Ranger Competition at Fort Benning. Fifty teams will compete in a grueling contest that takes place over sixty hours. The teams will perform exercises that showcase their physical, mental and tactical strengths. The competition draws competitors from around the world. This year, the competition will be streamed live. Much of it is also open to spectators and is free to watch. If you'd like to observe, go to the Harmony Church area of Fort Benning. Competition begins Friday morning with an opening ceremony at 5:45 a.m. EDT. The competition continues through Sunday. We're told that Saturday is the best day to watch. See the interview clip for more information a look at past competitions.
