SMITHS STATION, Ala. -

With a simple stroke of a pen, dreams came true for Glenwood's Alrick Perry on Monday morning.

He signed his letter of intent to play college football at Syracuse.

the Gator linebacker had 47 tackles and seven sacks last season. He will be part of history for Syracuse as the Orange make the transition to the ACC.

He says the offer came pretty recent and it was an opportunity he could not pass up.

"They gave me the best offer," Perry said. "They contacted me right before we got out for spring break. They wanted to fly me up there. They let me visit the campus. I liked it. They liked me. So, I'm going to be playing football up there."

Perry had his family, friends, and Glenwood teammates at his side when he signed his letter of intent Monday morning. He says he doesn't expect much playing time right away. But, he will work to help his new team.
