COLUMBUS, Ga. -

The Troup Tigers beat Columbus High in a 5-4 thriller on the baseball diamond on Tuesday.

The Tigers got the first run in the game. The Blue Devils came back in the bottom of the second to take a 2-1 lead.

A long Brannon Weathers double resulted in two runs for the Tigers and they took a three to two lead. They added another run in the inning to make it 4-2.

Columbus tied the game in the sixth to set up an exciting ending.

In the bottom of the eight, the Blue Devils had a great opportunity with bases loaded and one out.

Coach Howard instructed a bunt, but Troup pitched out of the zone and tagged out a running Hunter Swilling.

In the top of the 9th, Cody Doughman hit a liner back up the middle just out of the reach of the pitcher.  Will Kilgore's throw to second back got away and Bo Halcomb came home to score what became the winning run of the baseball game.
