It's like a 5k, but not exactly. A mudder combines a race with obstacles and, of course, lots of mud. On Saturday, April 20, these popular events make a debut in Columbus. The Highland Mudder will allow participants to test their fitness and athletic prowess. Proceeds from the event will go towards missions project through North Highland Assembly of God. One of the race's organizer, Brad Lacy, tells News 3 that those projects include a program to feed thousands of hungry children in India. If you'd like to participate, you can save $10 by signing up prior to the race day. You can do that on the Highland Mudder web page. The cost prior to race day is $55. On race day, it will be $65. Participants will hit the course in waves throughout the day. On the mudder course, expect to do things like crawl under barbed wire and carry logs, all in the mud.
