Playoff baseball got underway Friday night in Alabama.

The Smiths Station Panthers made quick work of Sidney Lanier, winning game one 15-5 and game two 12-0. The Panthers used a nine-run second in game one to take control.

They will face the winner of the Auburn/Lee-Montgomery series in round two.

In the AISA playoffs, a three-run second from Glenwood put the Gators on top of Hooper in game one. Austin Thomas got the win on the mound.

The winner of the best-of-three series will face Tuscaloosa in the second round.
