ROGERSVILLE, TN (WJHL) -

A Hawkins County mother is behind bars for allegedly keeping an unclean home.

The sheriff's office was called to check on a home in Rogersville, TN early Saturday morning in reference to a domestic disturbance. When a deputy arrived, he found a girl asleep on the couch with 7 dogs on her.

The officer noted in a report that he saw a large quantity of trash and animal feces throughout the home – he even wrote down that he "…observed the animals in the residence urinating on the couch where the child was sleeping."

Crystal Rosenbaum, 35, told the officer she did not clean the home because her child refused to help.

Due to the unsanitary condition of the home, Rosenbaum was arrested and charged with child neglect.  The Department of Child Services is also looking into this case.

She is currently out of jail on bond and has already appeared in court for an arraignment hearing. Rosenbaum will be back on court on June 22.
