Still no starter at quarterback coming out of spring

AUBURN, Ala. -

Auburn will wrap up 2013 spring practice on Wednesday, but they still will not have a starting quarterback.

Kiehl Frazier and Jonathan Wallace have split snaps almost equally all spring, and the competition figures to continue into the fall.

"There's not a lot of separation coming out of spring at this point," said Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee. "They both have things they can do well and help us win. These aren't the kind of things we're going to rush. We haven't in the past; we're not going to now. It's good to continue on and keep those guys pushing each other."

Lashlee also said not to look too much into who started the first scrimmage of the spring. He said he had the pair guess his birthday, and whoever was closest was the one who took the first snap.

As for the A-Day performance, Gus Malzahn said it was about what he expected.

"There were some good runs and they kept some plays alive, but there are a couple of plays I know they wish they had back," he said. "It's good to see how they react in front of a crowd."
