Boston Marathon Runner from Americus honored at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center

AMERICUS, Ga. -

A Boston Marathon runner from Americus was honored Tuesday at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.  Charlene Pennymon was embraced by concerned staff members who were thankful for her safe return home.

Charlene pennymon expected her first Boston Marathon to be unforgettable.

After she crossed the finished line she looked forward to celebrating with her family, but she didn't expect the blasts that followed.

During a luncheon held in her honor Pennymon shared her story.  To the staff at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center , Charlene Pennymon is a special source of support and inspiration. 
she shares her time and encourages others to lead healthy & active lifestyles.

Pennymon qualified for next year's Boston marathon and she plans to be there.  She says she'll keep running for the love of the sport and her fellow runners.
