Looking good going into the weekend

The air behind Thursday night's cool front is stable and dry. Although many places didn't even see a drop with Thursday's storm system, our opportunities for rain will increase for the second half of the weekend, when a front drapes across the region and stalls out. This stalled out front will guide storm systems from west to east increasing our chances for measurable rainfall through Monday of next week. Another cold front, with more energy is expected to arrive late next week bringing another shot of showers and storms.

FRIDAY:  Mostly sunny and average. High: 80

Friday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows near 57

SATURDAY:  Partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms late. High: 80

Saturday Night: Scattered showers and a few storms. Lows near 58

SUNDAY:  Scattered showers and a few storms. High: 77

Sunday Night: A few showers. Lows near 59

MONDAY: Scattered showers and a few storms. High: 77

Monday night: Slight chance of rain. Low: 58

    An Amber Alert has been canceled after 2-year old Maliah Harris was found safe in Georgia. Her 7-month-old sibling, Alyssa, was found dead and Maliah disappeared from a Mississippi home which prompted authorities to issue the alert. The girls parents, Donald Boyd Harris,34, and Allison Studdard, 31, are now in custody.
