Symphony on the Sand combines beautiful music with beautiful surroundings

COLUMBUS, Ga. -

Callaway Gardens is once again hosting the Symphony on the Sand. The outdoor concert features the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. People are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnics to enjoy on Robin Lake Beach. Also, picnic baskets are available for purchase in advance. This year's concert will be conducted by Jere Flint, who has ties to the Columbus area. Gates open at 5 p.m. The concert begins at 8 p.m. EDT. You can still purchase a table. Those are set up closest to the stage on the sand. The table reservations are $250-$400. Individual lawn seating tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate.

Authorities with the Chambers County Sheriff's Office say Johnny Bolt, of Five Points, walked into the sheriff's office this week and confessed to sexually abusing a family member under the age of 12. They say he was arrested Thursday and made bond that same day.
