SMITHS STATION, Ala. -

The Auburn High School Tigers baseball team were huge underdogs coming into Saturday.

After splitting games with Smiths Station of Friday, the winner of game 3 on Saturday got to move on to the quarterfinals of the state tournament.

With a six run 6th inning, the Tigers pulled of the upset with a final score of 8-6.

"This team has come together," said Jacob Drescher who hit the game winning three RBI double in the sixth. "Wow. There are not enough words to describe it. All glory goes to God definitely."

"Our kids, they trust in each other which is always a big thing," said Auburn Coach Matt Cimo. "They always say we are a family. We do things together. I think they just pulled together and decided to win."

"It can take us all the way to state, I believe," said Auburn's Blaise Taylor. "As long as we keep doing what we're doing and taking it one pitch at a time, there is no telling how far we can go."

They will host Fairhope at Auburn for the Elite 8 on Friday.
