Posted: Updated:
WINTERVILLE, N.C. -

Sunday night's rain didn't stop someone from holding up another dollar store.

The Winterville Family Dollar is the latest victim of an armed robbery.

Despite police patrols and security cameras, the suspect got away.

It happened just after 8:30 p.m.

Winterville Police said the suspect came in the store with a handgun and demanded money. That same suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

That Family Dollar is the sixth dollar store hit by armed robbers in since the beginning of 2013.

The Family Dollar store on Memorial Drive in Greenville was robbed twice and a Dollar General store on Airport Drive was hit earlier in April.

Customers say they don't understand why these robbers haven't been caught yet.

"It's always a concern, when people are robbing people, for the public. Because they can be a victim anytime, anywhere," said James Wiggins, customer.

Employees and customers say they feel pretty safe at the Winterville store, even after Sunday night's robbery.

When 9 On Your Side called the Family Dollar corporate office, they said the safety of their customers and employees is important, but wouldn't give any details about increase security measures.
