Durham police investigating homicide

DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham police responded to a call of shots fired at the 2500 block of Fayetteville Street Monday evening and arrived to find a man shot multiple times.

The incident occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. just a few blocks from the campus of North Carolina Central University, near Burlington Avenue. When officers arrived, they found Maurice Frank Streeter, 27, of Durham, lying in a parking lot.

Streeter was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
