Brookstone wins offensive battle, Pacelli drops nailbiter

The Brookstone Lady Cougars opened up state soccer tournament play with an offensive explosion, beating Our Lady of Mercy 10-5 Thursday night at home.

Rachel Moore totaled four goals as the Cougars led 5-3 at halftime. Our Lady of Mercy made it 6-5 at one point in the second half, but Brookstone broke it open with three goals in the last eight minutes to win.

They'll face Aquinas on Tuesday in round two.

Pacelli drops tough one

The Pacelli Lady Vikings dropped a nailbiter, 1-0, to ELCA on the road Thursday.

The game was scoreless at halftime.

ELCA will face Calvary Day in round two.
