AUBURN, Ala. -

The magical postseason run for the Auburn High School Tigers continues.

They beat Fairhope in game 3 of their playoff series on Monday. The final score was 7-6.

Much like their previous game 3 with Smiths Station, Auburn came to the plate in the sixth inning trailing on the scoreboard.

Blaise Taylor got a hit just inside the third base bag that scored Demikyle Holmes. That tied the game at 4-4.

In the same inning. Jacob Drescher came to the plate with the bases loaded. Drescher had the bases clearing and game winning double against Smiths Station last week.

Drescher got to be Mr. Clutch again for Matt Cimo's squad. He hit a hot shot right at Fairhope's third baseman. The ball got through to the outfield. Frank Wager and Blaise Taylor came around to score. The Tigers would add one more run to make it seven to four.

The steady closer Will Eiland got the ball for the seventh inning. Fairhope made him work. They scored two runs to make it 7-6.

Fairhope had the game-tying runner on third base with two outs in the seventh. Eiland got a ground ball to second. The throw made it in time. Auburn is moving on to the Final Four.

"I'm a firm believer that good things happen to good kids," said Auburn Head Coach Matt Cimo. "And these kids are great kids. I'm telling you, they are unbelievable kids."

"I think we just believe in each other," said Eiland. "We have been trusting each other all along. We know somebody is going to come through and back each other up."

"I came up with bases loaded again," Drescher said. "Of course, I thought about Smiths Station. I was like, just put it in play. Hit it hard somewhere."

"As long as we keep playing like we have been playing and take it one pitch at a time, we can go all the way to state," said Blaise Taylor.

Auburn gets to play at home again on Friday. They will host Pelham for the chance to play for the state championship on the line.
